Remembering the past, looking to the future.
Our company was founded in 1976 with the aim of providing financial systems to community hospitals. Twenty-five years later, that company, now known as Intelligent Health Systems (IHS), is building new products that allow an electronic patient record accross all healthcare providers.
"I learned a lot from watching my father deal with smaller communities," said Brady J. Klick, president and CEO of IHS. "We were able to witness a more generalized view of the functions of healthcare at the community level, and were able to develop products based on real-world needs. Our company saw the continuum of health care and wanted to be able to provide all the clinical and financial tools needed in any environment."
As IHS moved its products to all markets, the lessons learned at the community level continued to serve the growing company. One such advantage is the portability of patient records. "Many times, a patient will be transferred from a community hospital to a larger facility for more intensive care," Klick said. "With our clinical systems, we can send that information up to the regional facility and bring down to the community level when they return home."
Currently in its third decade, IHS continues to develop new products to serve its existing clients and to reach new customers. The company invests more than 15 percent of its revenues in research and development, reaching towards future needs while remembering lessons already learned.
