Order Communication

Intelligent Health System's Order Communications application is a comprehensive, integrated Order Entry system. The Order Communications application is integrated with other Health Systems applications.

Features Include:

Power Entry
  • Allows quick, easy order entry based upon facility-defined abbreviations for orderable tests and equipment. Also allows orders to be placed with facility defined priorities.
Menu-Driven Order Entry
  • Allows order entry upon facility-defined menus of orderable test and equipment.
Duplicate Order Checking
  • Provides a warning when a duplicate order is placed within a facility-defined time window. Allows for procedures to be cross-referenced when performing the duplicate check.
SIGs
  • Provides ability to attach facility-defined SIGs to an order, thereby generating a "series" of orders. Allows orders to be flagged to print on a Renew Orders Report as a reminder.
Future Orders Processing
  • Provides ability to indicate, by department, whether future orders should be processed immediately or on the date of service.
Order Cancellation Upon Discharge
  • Cancels future orders upon discharge. Provides a report listing outstanding, open orders.
Packages
  • Allows orders to be grouped and stored in sets to provide fast order entry.
Patient Profile
  • Maintains integrated patient profiles with information accessible from Order Communications, Pharmacy, QUM and Clinical Documentation System.
Edit, Overlay, Copy Orders
  • Allows orders to be edited, copied or overlaid with orders from the same department.
Multiple Diets, Future Diets
  • Provides the ability for a patient to have multiple diets ordered for the same meal. Allows future diets to be ordered.
Order Review
  • Creates an online audit trail complete with print history. Allows for multiple methods of reviewing orders.
Charging
  • Allows flexibility in deciding when orders generate charges such as daily, upon completion of order, or on a continuous patient determined basis.
Order Canceling
  • Canceling an order can print a cancel notice or generate a cancel request. Reasons for cancellation can be required by the department or service item.
Order Parameters
  • Facility defined parameters can be attached to orders at the master file level or added at the time the order is placed.
